Job Description

Ryan Companies is looking for a Professional Engineer to serve as a team member responsible for the design and production for their site development projects. This position will be part of a dynamic team, working with developers, architects, project managers, and property managers to turn client dreams into realities. We are looking for someone who can add to our collaborative culture and has a strong technical competency in commercial site design. 

Project responsibilities include engineering design for site, grading, storm-water, utilities, and paving. Also responsible for plan preparation, specifications, and analysis related to physical constraints and agency requirements along with delegation and oversight of detailed design and drafting by other team members. 

When serving as a project manager, this individual will prepare task lists for preconstruction site development activities, including preconstruction schedules, directly serving as primary contact for site civil engineering, landscape architecture, traffic engineering, land surveys, wetlands, and other site development activities. The Professional Engineer may present to reviewing agencies, boards, and commissions. 

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and strong experience as a licensed professional engineer in the state of Texas, and requires a general understanding of land development and agency approval processes. The individual must be well versed with word processing, spreadsheets, possess a solid understanding of Civil 3D, and competent with required engineering design software.

This individual must be deliberative, analytical, and focused to excel in this position. The individual should also possess strong communication skills, be organized, highly motivated, and demonstrate self-confidence and initiative. High ethical standards and respect for the power and liability that comes with signing civil documents are must-haves!
