Job Description

Ryan Companies has an exciting opportunity as an Engineer In-Training! The individual will serve as a team member responsible for design and production on commercial development projects. This position will be part of an integral team, working with developers, architects, project managers, property managers and assisting in turning client dreams into realities. We are looking for someone who can add to our collaborative culture and has technical competency in basic civil engineering skills, and exposure to commercial site civil engineering is preferred.  

Project responsibilities include drafting and basic engineering design for site, grading, stormwater, utilities, paving, and details for such; prepare plans or engineering documents as directed by a Professional Engineer, assist the team by preparing preconstruction schedules, collecting background data, and coordinating with architects,landscape architects, traffic engineers, land surveyors, or other site development professionals that would be overseen by a Professional Engineer. Other administrative responsibilities include preparing weekly timesheets and other assigned tasks.

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, and some experience as an engineer-in-training.  Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam in the state of employment is required.  Word processing, spreadsheets, stormwater modeling, and Civil 3D experience is preferred.  Previous work in commercial civil engineering design, construction, and/or surveying is also preferred.

Successful candidates will be deliberative, analytical, and focused to excel in this position.  Additionally, this individual should also possess strong communication skills, be organized, highly motivated, and demonstrate self-confidence and initiative.
