Job Description

Ryan Companies US, Inc. has an immediate career opportunity for a Chief Building Engineer serving a downtown Minneapolis Class A office building.

This position will be responsible for leading a team of maintenance engineers to successful operation of a premier class A office building. We are seeking self-motivated professionals with strong customer service skills and 15+ years’ experience in a commercial environment, a current Chief C class or higher boiler license, and CFC certification with refrigeration repair experience is required. Must also have excellent working knowledge of building mechanical, automation, electrical, and fire protection systems and proven history of successful operation of a class A office building. May have to acquire licensing or certifications required to operate a building. Formal supervisory training along with strong electrical experience is required. SMA, SMT and LEED certification or other equivalent designations, and experience with district energy are all preferred.

Successful candidates will have proven experience in assuming full responsibility for a working team, have exceptional leadership and verbal communication skills, be able to work well and efficiently on a team, and have a positive, helpful attitude at all times when interacting with building occupants. Experience in providing budgets, understanding financials, forecasting, experience in energy management systems, energy cost saving and building system operation efficiencies are required. Must have strong computer abilities, a clear driving record, be able to lift 120 pounds, work from a ladder, work overhead, smell smoke and other chemicals, and be able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions, including hot and extreme cold temperatures.
